Easy Green Smoothies For Weight Loss For Beginners

Want to lose weight and boost your health? In this post, I show you a couple easy green smoothies for weight loss that are also jam-packed with vitamins, minerals, fiber and all the other micronutrients that restore health and vitality.


Here’s the deal: as simple as it may be to throw some ingredients into a blender and press ON, making green smoothies on a daily basis can actually be quite a challenge. The act of making the smoothie itself isn’t difficult – it’s rather quick and easy – but the challenge boils down to one simple word: Consistency.


Let’s take a quick look at how you can easily become consistent in your smoothie regimen and reach your goals.

Simple Slimming Smoothies

Don’t over-complicate things in the beginning. Easy green smoothies for weight loss are just that – easy! Some people seem to think a tasty green smoothie absolutely must have two different greens, a plethora of fruits, spices like fresh ginger root, and at least one exotic superfood such as goji berry. That couldn’t be further from the truth.


When you’re first starting out, the real answer lies in simplicity. And to show you what I mean, here are two of my favorite easy green smoothies for weight loss that aren’t over-complicated and taste truly delightful.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Green Smoothie:

Want to ease your way into this green smoothie business? No problem. Look no further than my Chocolate Peanut Butter recipe. This is what I consider my “gateway” green smoothie because I’ve converted many non-believers to a daily smoothie regimen with this.


  1. 2 cups unsweetened almond milk
  2. 1 cup baby spinach (packed)
  3. 3 ripe bananas
  4. 2 Tbsp natural peanut butter (no oil or sugar added)
  5. 2 Tbsp raw cacao powder


  1. Place all ingredients into a high-powered blender
  2. Blend on lowest setting at first, gradually ramping up to high for about 20 seconds
  3. Pour and serve (see picture)

Liquid Sunshine Green Smoothie

This recipe is simple enough, yet it honestly tastes like you’re drinking a sunny spring morning. There’s no other way to explain it. Despite all the smoothie recipes I use, I find myself returning to this one the most and recommend it to everyone I know.


  1. 2 cups unsweetened almond milk
  2. 3 cups (loosely packed) baby spinach
  3. 3 ripe bananas
  4. 2 cups diced fresh pineapple
  5. 2 pitted medjool dates
  6. 2 Tbsp whole flaxseed


  1. Place all ingredients into a high-powered blender
  2. Blend on lowest setting at first, gradually ramping up to highest for about 30 seconds
  3. Pour and serve (see picture)

Build A Recipe Arsenal Or Smoothie Diet Plan

In order to stay consistent, you’ll want to make sure you don’t get tired of your smoothies. Using the same couple recipes over and over can lead to inconsistency. You’ll need variety to keep yourself interested. After all, not only do your taste buds desire variety in flavor, but your body also desires variety (in nutrients).


Come up with a comprehensive list of easy green smoothies for weight loss that you enjoy and offer a variety of different greens and fruits. Cycle through these recipes with each shopping trip so you’re not getting tired of the same old thing. And while you’re at it, try your best to focus on recipes that use fruits currently in season.

You can build your recipe arsenal by trying out different recipes you find on the Internet, in magazines and recipe books. Copy and paste them into a text document that you save on your computer or Google Drive. Or, if you prefer to go retro, print them on good ol’ fashioned paper and maintain a binder of your favorite smoothie recipes.

If regaining your wealth was a war, green smoothies would be the ultimate, top-secret weapon of mass destruction. They’re the atomic bomb against declining health.


Never in my life have I made one simple change to my diet and seen so much positive impact. Not only did I lose weight, but I have more energy, my skin improved, I sleep better and my mind is clearer. And in case you’re wondering how they could be so effective, it’s because green smoothies are delicious, low-calorie, satiating treats that are chock-full of all the nutrients we need (but often neglect).

Remember, no matter how you approach your smoothies, the key is consistency. If you aren’t consistently drinking your smoothies, then they can’t offer you all their amazing benefits. They need to be a part of your daily routine.
